Stephanie demonstrates the part of the approach trail with footsteps carved in the rock. If you are doing the main trail approach, you'll go past these before reaching the split rail fence and the gully at the base.

This is the split rail fence mentioned in the approach beta. When it ends is where you exit the trail to the right and enter the gully at the base of the First Flatiron.
