Hi all,

What is the mosquito and black fly (if any) season in Rumney? Is it similar to Pawtuckaway? We are considering going at the end of the week June9-12. THanks in advance.

They exist, they bite, they hate bug dope

They are present, but far less severe than at P way. Most crags have black flies but not mosquitoes.

They're out, but not terrible. Being some bug stuff and a good attitude and you'll be fine.

Just got back (Sunday) from a weekend trip to North Conway. Coming from the ADKs, I went prepared for a blood bath with netting, spray, layers, etc. I was pleasantly surprised that I only used bug dope one afternoon and it was really only because I was wearing shorts.

Even in the ADK, bugs are mild this season so far. You can thank this whirl-wind of freezing to 90s and back again temperatures for that!
