Black Diamond C3 trigger repair

Hi all,

I have a broken trigger wire on my BD C3 cam. I was wondering whether there was a cheaper option than black diamond for doing trigger repair? Any suggestions? I have repaired C4s and wild country trigger wires, but I think the C3 is going to be too difficult for me to do well.

Thanks,

Will

I brought mine into their warranty/repair shop and they fixed it for free, guy was really cool about it and gave me some cam lube too. I don't know how that would work with shipping but maybe if you called and spoke with someone about it they may help you out? Good luck

I have ordered the wires from BD, and used a fork to fix a C3 on a couple of occassions. not too hard.

Did the wire break? Or just come off the plastic part where it wraps 2/3 of the way 'round it? The latter isn't too hard to wrestle back into place with a pair or two of needle nose pliers.

As an aside, one of the reasons I don't like C3s is that the trigger wires don't pull on the lobes in the usual way; they push on them. And I think it makes wire problems more likely and much more troublesome when they do occur.

Broke by the lobe. But it wasnt bad to fix and mine pull evenly after replacing, and no complaints. I use the C3's a lot so its not a common issue for me.

I've had some of mine repaired at Nomad's (gear store in JTree), I think it was maybe $5. Maybe try other climbing shops near you.

David, That is exactly what I am looking for, but something closer to Sacramento/Tahoe.

For my cam, I guess the wire broke at the point where it wraps around a plastic piece near the spring. I have been trying to jury rig it back together to no avail.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
