Nice photo! Good link-up. Do you have one with a bigger field of view? Pretty cool position just below the Yellow Ridge arete. I surprised someone one day on Yellow Ridge by popping up at the base of the arete as they were just about to gain it.

No, I don't unfortunately! The traverse is on a hanging block of rock. It would be cool to show how the rock drops away a little bit below the traverse.

I can imagine the surprise to Yellow Ridge climbers! We did this on a weekday and no one was on Yellow Ridge at the time. I could imagine it would get pretty tricky to turn that corner and have another party on that pitch.

It worked out. Turns out I knew the other leader. He knew I was faster so I zipped up the arete keeping my rope on the left and protected the overhang off to the left. Once I was clear he finished and brought his second up who was somewhat inexperienced. Once she had gained the roof and I started bringing my second up with just a minimal delay. Probably best on a weekend to check the situation on YR first and gauge the timing of the likely traffic.
