Hey all,

I've got a WFR recert in Golden this weekend. I live in the Springs so it'd be a rough commute for three days. I was hoping to park my car somewhere for a couple nights (Friday and Saturday night to be specific) where I won't be harassed and can sleep semi soundly. Thanks for the beta!!

Looks like there is a Walmart right in the area, can always park overnight in their lot.

We found some cutty BLM land somewhere west of Golden, but it wasn't easy. I'd go for Walmart/stealth sleep poacher style if I were you.

I slept a summer in the dinosaur lots on i70 (in my truck). No problems. If you're not into that Feel free to sleep in your car in my driveway in Denver. 20 minutes to Golden.

2 decent spots:
Clear Creek RV Park. It's right along the river in central Golden, within walking distance to Washington St. Nothing fancy, but it'd work!

Or Bear Creek Lake Park campground. Right off c470 and Morrison. 10 minute drive to downtown Golden.

Hope this helps!

If you don't mind a mile walk, you can camp for free in White Ranch Open Space

Clear Creek RV Park only allows legit RVs. I tried camping in my car at a friends spot who lives there, and they asked us to leave the next day. They weren't dicks, just the rules.

Walmart off Bowles is a nogo. They do not allow it anymore. I was kicked out of there this morning after I parked there around 4am just to get a little sleep after working all night at my job before taking my wife to work at bandimere.

I don’t think any Walmart’s in CO allow it anymore.. too many dirtbags.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
