Looking for Climbing Partners in Oregon

Hi all,
I am looking for fellow Oregonians to climb with. I used to climb a fair amount, but then moved to Oregon and inexplicably quit for a while (5 years). I have recently started climbing again, but don't know many other climber folks in this area. I currently boulder in the V3-V5ish range. I haven't been on a rope in a while, but would guess that I could lead some 10s, follow 11s. Did I mention I don't mind belaying? I am generally free Friday-Sunday. Please contact me if you want to climb sometime.

Hey there. If you ever wanna climb at Smith Rock, I'm moving to Bend in a couple days and I'm in need of climbing partners! I'll be living in the area til August and am pretty flexible on what days I work and have off (I'll be working 3 nights a week). I have a rope and draws but no trad gear. I mostly climb in the 5.8-5.10A range. I'm kind of a chicken when it comes to leading but I'm a solid belayer!

I'm in need of consistent partner(s) who genuinely love climbing.

I get out every weekend (usually one day). Even climbed a day at Smith in 15 degree weather. I greatly prefer trad, and lead into low-mid 10s in the lower gorge at Smith.. Higher in other areas. Love Trout, too.

I'll do sport here and there, but sport actually sketches me out more than trad. Plus, I haven't quite decoded the nubbin climbing at Smith.

I have tons of trad gear and experience.

Let me know if you'd be interested.

I'm in Portland. If anyone wants to do some climbing around here give me a PM.

I mostly climb trad but all my gear is in Arizona (long story).

Just wage slaving it here for a while before I locate to a state that actually has rock to climb.

Anyone in Portland want to go to Ozone tomorrow?

Tomorrow meaning today?

The web site says you posted 10 hours ago, but it only just sent me the notification email like 20 minutes ago

I'm living in Halfway, OR. Been in love with climbing for going on 6 years. I love traveling to crags. I just spent 3 days climbing at Smith Rock. I climb 5.11 sport and 5.10 trad.

That's a ways from anywhere!

I've always wanted to check out the granite in the Willowas. Know anything about it?

There is a possibility I may be road tripping to City of Rocks next weekend starting Friday. If you're keen to join you should let me know.

What I've read on the Wallowas looks like some fun trad adventures, but with long approaches. I'm all for it! I've had plenty of sport climbing to play with in Hells Canyon, which is a short drive with a short approach! Just no partner for me where I live. I've given a crash course in belaying to my aunt and my girlfriend. But, like Tommy Caldwell, I'm afraid of rejection when it comes to asking them to go out with me. I go top rope and roped lead soloing when the itch gets bad. I've just recently heard great things about City of Rocks, so I'm down! I've also read about some good climbing just north of La Grande.

Only thing I've heard of was Elgin wall, which I heard was closed?

Oregon is pretty climbing poor as far as the west coast goes. Best climbing I've experienced in the state is near Westfir.

One reason I have for going out west is to check out a vehicle in Twin Falls and see if it fits my needs. My van broke down in AZ and has all my climbing gear (and other worldly possessions) and I haven't found a suitable replacement as yet. I probably won't have the time to pick up my stuff, but maybe I can check this vehicle out and hatch a scheme to eventually get my stuff.

(problem being, of course, I have no trad gear for City of Rocks unless I borrow something)

Hey all,

I'm heading to Smith June 2-11th. Was going to meet with my now ex, so just want to climb a bunch.

Anyone willing to climb for a day here and there? Leading low .10 sport, .9 trad. Willing to follow some harder .10 as well as just have a bunch of fun on .7s.

If you are out around that time, I will probably swing by camp to say hi while looking for partners.

I'm looking for a partner May 27 and 28 at Smith (sorry to hijack the thread!) if any of you want to climb.
I only lead sport, up to 5.10d but I'll happily second trad. Message me!

Hey everyone!

I'm heading up from California and driving through Oregon and I'd love to get a few days of climbing at Smith Rock on my way. I can climb Monday - Wednesday, May 30 - June 1 (though I'd prefer Tuesday or Wednesday, I think). I'd love to get some leads in on single pitch or follow up a multi-pitch route, and I enjoy both trad and sport climbing in the 5.10- and easier range.

Let me know if this'll work for you! Thanks!

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
