Photo 1890 right up to about 1965 or even later .. playing on boulders was something to do when it was raining or fun near a camp site .. no grades etc .These guys are in nailed boots as was the footwear in those days right into the 1950's (in UK) Odd climbs up to about 5.9 was done in these boots (not many!)
