NEW GUIDEBOOK! SQUEEZING THE LEMMON III - Weekly to daily cliff suggestions for the changing seasons!
Maybe not THAT moderate, Eric. I'm thinking perhaps Swim Fin/Blazing Fin? But thank you for the suggestion. |
Weather is supposed to change on Monday so get on the mountain this weekend. |
The Rupley Towers area was a great place to be last weekend. This is the back, uphill right side of Big Pine Towers. Recovery Room 5.10- and Sloth 5.11 which has the rope on it. Beautiful February day at 6500 feet. |
Clouds are in today, so it is a perfect day to hit the Weathertop! |
Thin clouds again today. Pinhead would be a good choice as would Chessmen, Andy Cook and Pumphouse. |
Tomorrow could be a little chilly so stay low and out of the wind. |
REST DAY! A rare drizzly day here in southern AZ. Take a trip to the world renowned AZ Sonoran Desert Museum desertmuseum.org/ or Kartchner Caverns azstateparks.com/Parks/KACA/ or if your ready for a little city time 4th Avenue and downtown Tucson has great shops and food and a micro brewery or two. |
Well it was a tad chilly on Saturday but beautiful today. The week ahead looks perfect for many elevations depending on whether you choose sun or shade. |

Get a copy of this book and you'll be set for life on Mount Lemmon! |

Today it will be in the 80s in town. We are heading to a new limestone micro crag. It isn't in the book but will offer an alternative spring fall destination. It may be short but it is fun and it is limestone 50 minutes from central Tucson! Would I go there if I was visiting? Hell no unless you have never climbed on limestone. |

This guidebook cured my arthritis! |

It looks like it is going to be in the 80s for awhile now. Perfect temps for Mid-mountain or better yet climb the shade lower down. Chessmen, Green Acres at Green Slabs, Hearthstone are good choices but it helps to have gear at the last two and get an early start. You could also start your day at Hawk Rock at Windy Point West then pop over to the east facing windy point routes. Goosehead, Helmet and Middle Earth are also good choices this time of year. Troll Wall, and Munchkinland are definitely in season also. Wheeler Wall, Branching out, 60 second wall, and Red Diamond are good choices too. |

Well I have to say with these temps you can go almost anywhere on the Mountain. I was at the Summit last week and the the temps were perfect in the sun but probably cold in the shade. I was hiking and warm in the sun. A good time to not get slammed by the monsoons so I would suggest hitting Southpark, The Steep, Delta, Ireland and Spectrum if it stays this hot. |
Old friends from Colorado are in town and wanted to climb so we went to the Hairpin around 11 a.m. We started in the shade on Susey's Groovy then came back around once the shade arrived. It was a fun day and temps were great. |
Okay,I hope you had a great weekend/spring break. I spent the weekend at 8000 feet in the shade (it was chilly) in the morning but nice in the afternoon even with a bit of wind. I did have a wind shirt on. So I would say that Ireland and Spectrum wall will be doable at this point. |
Crazy windy day as a front moves north of us. Gusts up to 40mph. It is a good day to stay low if you must get out. Hairpin, Rivendell, Pinhead, It Crack, Milagrosa might be secluded enough. |
Chilly with light winds and mostly sunny in the 60s. Sunspots and Ruins are my choice for today. Hairpin's Lefthand wall would work for a short day of easy. |
Starting to edge toward the 80s again so enjoy lower areas that are sunny on Saturday. |
Any where local to pick up this guide while im in the Phoenix/Mesa area for work next week so i can get a jump start on planning my west coast trip later this year? |
