Pop-up climber hostel at Red Rock (Jan-Mar)

Hi all,

I decided to rent a house close to Red Rock this winter so I could work and climb without having to deal with dirtbagging logistics. Been there, done that... and it's not that easy here.

Anyway, the house that I ended up with is WAY bigger than I need. I'm looking to open my 3 extra (!!!) bedrooms up to visiting climbers this winter. Here are the details:

  • Easy 15-20 minute drive to the park.
  • Strongly suggested donation of $20 per person per night.
  • Can accommodate parties of up to 10.
  • Available until the end of March

Give me a shout if you're looking for a place to crash during your visit.

Peace!

Availability Jan 15-19? Myself and 3 other climbers are coming in for the long weekend. Currently have a hotel booked, but may cancel?

Is the house furnished? and is there parking?

Yes to all of the above. I'll PM you the details.

this seems like a liability for everyone involved tbh. might want to look up short term rental laws for wherever your house is located. why not set up an airbnb page instead?

airbnb.com/help/article/906…

edit: oh...this is not even your property. ouch.

Does your landlord/property manager/owner approve of this? You might want to check...

When you live in Vegas you have a lot of friends that like to visit often.

Props to Brian. IMO this is an idea which is long past needing to be done.

Couple caveats besides the liability issues...introduce yourself and make sure your neighbors are cool with your plan. Is the place in a home owners association? Those people can be a royal PITA and they have nothing better to do in their lives than give you and your landlord trouble (with the force of the law) if you get on their wrong side..

Think about the parking. Think about the pets...
Keep the place neat, quiet and clean.

Long as your neighbors are cool you should be able to fly under the radar.

Any room February 6th and 7th?

Folks can just PM me with availability requests. Right now, in general, there are plenty of beds open into the first week of March. We are approaching capacity for mid and late March.

Highly recommend staying here if you are climbing in Red Rock. We stayed last weekend and the house is spacious and the hospitality is great.

Brian hosted 3 of us MLK weekend. To say the house is huge is an understatement. Super safe neighborhood, about a 10-15 minute drive from Red Rock Canyon. Could not have had a better experience. Brian, I hope we meet again.

Thank you Brian for having us! Without a doubt the best decision we made was reaching out to you. I highly recommend sending him a message if you're in need of a place to stay. Super close to climbing, and not far from gimmicky Vegas things if you're into that too. Thanks again!

All, you can *CLICK HERE* to send me a private message about room availability. Currently:

  • I have vacancies through 3/4.
  • After 3/4 vacancies are extremely limited but I do have one or two open beds in the 3/8-3/16 range.

Thanks!

Had a cancellation and ended up with a spare bedroom mid-week this week if anyone is still looking. Sleeps 3.

Had another last-minute cancellation and now have solid availability for 2 (possibly 3 in a single party) until the 18th.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
