Description

The Stump Wall is the only ice climbing area on the east side of the Uncompahgre Gorge. The Stump Wall is a small area but offers steep and challenging terrain that may be led or top-roped.

Getting There

The Stump Wall may be accessed beyond the apex of the first hairpin turn on US Highway 550 out of Ouray, very near the lower parking lot for the ice park. There is a rope ladder for canyon access on one side of the Stump Wall.
