I was there on Christmas day, and it had been "tagged". I was there probably one week prior to Christmas day, and there was no graffiti. I've been climbing at Hammond Pond for almost 10 years, and this is by far the worst thing I've seen done. Maybe this and broken glass all over the ground.

Boy, that really stinks. It's such a cool rock, why do people have to graffiti nature?

Is there a good way to get paint off the rock?

It depends on your definition of good. There are chemicals combined with pressure washing or using more paint to cover it up. I recommend folks who would like to help keep our crags clean and protected join the newly formed Southeast New England Climbers Coalition. Hammond Pond is a special place and deserves more respect!

The unfortunate scene at the Alcove yesterday (12/28/15). Not sure how recently this occurred.
