Our car window was broken while parked on the street on 10/25 at the corner of 9th and Ringold St. A red checkered backpack with a laptop is missing, along with two backpacks full of rock climbing gear. The red mountaineering backpack has a pink 70m 9.9mm Trango Lotus rope, a BD primrose small harness, a an ATC-guide, a PAS, a white helmet, a camelback, a hollowblock, and size 36 5.10 rock climbing shoes. The black backpack also had a BD harness, a camelback a helmet, Miura shoes with blown toes, and a full trad rack including nuts, cams, slings, hexes, a ball nut, and carabiners. If you see any of these items for sale or otherwise, please let us know. A reward could be negotiated. We're in the midst of a road trip (just left Yosemite) and would really love to see our gear again.
that sucks. Same thing happened to me last year when I was in SF. There was security footage of the guy smashing my window and everything but I never recovered my stuff. However, I got a reasonable amount back from my renters insurance claim. If you don't find your stuff then that's another option to recover some/most of your losses. I always keep my gear in the trunk now.
SO sorry about the shitty welcome to my hometown. This is in no way a comment on you, but did you have renters insurance? It is really cheap (+/- $100/year) and covers stuff in your car, too! Put the word on the street, keep an eye, good luck.
