Description
The northwest tower of Bigfoot Mating Grotto holds this beautiful bolted overhanging arete.
Size 12 starts at the leftward steep bulge (10 feet left of the bulge start to Bigfoot's Back Door and "Size 11"). Stand on a block and reach up to clip the first bolt and step down off the block for the exciting direct start off of the triangle hold (V6+). The bouldery crux is harder than that of Snagger, but shorter with less commitment.
At the third bolt, Size 12 and Size 11 converge. Continue up past two more bolts on easy terrain and then up the sweet overhanging arete with two more bolts to the chains.
With an attentive belay and clipping from the solid stances, the route is exciting and plenty safe. Remember to find the solid clipping stances for the last two bolts.
Enjoy!!!
