Hi, I know it is going to be hot at that time of year, but anyone know how hot? i.e. is it a stupid idea, or do others regularly climb it on aid at that time of year.

Also I belevie that some times the buttress is closed to climbing in June because of nesting birds. Where is this info posted - I need to be 100% sure it will be open as I'd be coming from the UK.

Thanks.

Wayyyyyy to hot to be worthwhile. Trust me.

We basically climb exclusively in the shade june-august. Even late may and most of september can be brutal.

Also, you can always check bird closures on the National Park Service website for each park.

Thanks guys.
Is there anywhere you can think of in the USA or possibly Canada that was a nice wall to solo that has easy access and is not too tall? Not Yosemite - been there a reasonable number of times.

Thanks.

(Basicly I have to go to the USA for work for a couple of days, and have the chance to add in a week before the flight back, so thought I'd sit on my ledge looking at the stars for a few days.)

This looks possible (even if on the wrong side of the country, but kind of on the way home for a Brit):

It is very accessible and an easy solo. It is all clean (it gets free attempts with some regularity). It is pretty short, however, and for an experienced/competent aid climber, this wouldn't really take multiple days. I've done it twice, once fixing a few pitches the first evening and then finishing the next day. The other time was in one day, and I aid slow as dirt.
