I met many local climbers down here in the evening after classes were over and people just needed a place to pull down. The garage was wide open, and once the word got out, there would always be a climber down there. The crack Machine, though adjustable, is always set on hands, so working laps on this is good for learning how to hand jam...if you can take the pain. The peg board was a terrific thing for building serious one-arm lock-off power, and I hit that thing all the time. The biggest moves were linking corner to corner to corner. That eight foot traverse rail had lots of variety in its use, from over-the-top jugs w/big feet, to tips and slippery zero for feet...20 minutes on this rig could smoke those forearms real good!

I was at UCLA from '83 to '85, and then grad school from '87 to '90. I never met let alone saw another climber the whole time I was there. How did I not hear about this?

The climbing gym at The Co-Op (University Cooperative Housing of Landfair...a block and a half from campus.) Built 1983...still there getting used, but access is now locked.
