I like how Tobin has his wallet in his pocket! The route had a couple of fixed hex nuts in it for his ascent, and ...keeping with tradition, apparently...the route continues to have fixed gear in critical places to this day.

I thought that was his wallet, too. But, as someone else pointed out to me that is actually his belay seat.

EBs were French, named after Eduard Bourdineau - and copied from the original PA - Pierre Allain (a very famous and influential French climber).
