This seems a little excessive, even for mountain project. I get that if you want to onsight a route you shouldn't be on here in the first place, but I think that this picture crosses some sort of line. The experience of desperately looking for something, anything, to hold on to up there and then miraculously finding that sloping edge is one of my best in rock climbing. And had this picture been up before I climbed this route, that experience would have been taken from me. And like I said, to a certain degree I took the experience of route finding and gear selection away from myself in the first place when I chose to check mountain project, but I think that this picture is one step too far

I don't see what the big deal is - the anti-information crusaders can simply choose not to view beta; there's no need to deprive other people of it (especially when a move is potentially dangerous). I haven't been on this route, but I can't imagine a .jpeg cheapening any good climbing experience.
