In order to achieve balance I believe all the difference could be made by living in proximity to a 24-hour climbing gym. While we can't always climb for real all the time, we at least need to be able to stay in shape all the time, so that we CAN climb for real when it counts.

Someone said "find something you love and let it kill you" , also for "keeping it real" , brosefs! Life is going to require a constant balance adjustments as you grow and change, your needs and wants will change. Stay true to your passions and treat others like you want to be treated. If life throws you a curve ball play it the best you can.
When I was in school I was always climbing. You get a day off work and you go. If you have a ton of school work to do then you either do it instead of climbing or do it when it gets dark outside.
If partying is also a major priority I will say that I have much better memories of being out in the woods then going out and blowing stupid amounts of money to act like an idiot.
