This view emphasizes the horizontal distance and minimizes the vertical ... but it also gives you a good sense of what you do!

Yes this is accurate, believe it or not. The image may be slightly distorted due to google maps, but that is where the last pitch (8) ends.

The foreshortening of the lower half due to the camera perspective (satellite) on this is very dramatic. Check out how it looks as viewed from Glacier Point

What is the slab like at the top. Is it actual slab climbing , or is it just steep walking

It is steep walking - unrope and proceed with early care, but you will be hiking to the summit.
