Do you make climbing gear?

Hello everyone!

The climbing community has had a very profound impact on my life and I wanted to give back somehow. My profession is in business and marketing, so I decided that I could use my skills to establish a network where I could help push our communities' artists and manufacturers creations out into the world.

So, after some brainstorming, I founded The Climbing Rope Club. We sell primarily climbing rope, and if you buy a climbing rope from us, we'll give you $50 off your next climbing rope when you retire that first one. It is my goal that this incentive will at least drive people to the site, at the very least to check it out.

Once they reach the site however, they will see more than just ropes available. I am here seeking anyone who makes things like chalk bags or gear packs, or someone who specializes in making things out of recycled rope. I want to help create awareness of your products. Social media and networking are an extremely important part of this process, so if you already have Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, etc., then that is all the better.

You don't pay me, and I don't pay you. "Sharing" is our currency, so when you post about my business, I post about yours, etc. This could create exponential reach. There is also the option of everyone selling each others' products, and when an order comes in, we send you the information and you ship to the customer. This is called "drop shipping," and it eliminates the need to buy inventory.

Would anyone here have any interest in developing such a network? (Mods, I am new here, so if this is in the wrong forum, feel free to move it!)

Sounds like a pretty cool concept and $50 off just for buying a rrope beats REI's dividend, thats for sure.

I make some webbing products that are pretty much just decorations or bracelets, nothing too crazy. I don't have a website, but I've sold stuff before locally.

Mp User: Josh Kornish makes awesome quality custom chalk bags, perhaps you can shoot him a pm? Seems like an interesting concept!

Hey Michael!

Definitely send me a message! I would love to network with other climber-owned small business. I'm interested to hear more on your proposed platform.

I'll have some new designs in the work.

Cheers,

Josh

p.s Thanks for the referral Michael Fisher!!
