Description Suggest change

There's enough climbing on the upper East Face of Mt. Willard to keep you busy for a whole day.

When done for the day, you can rappel back to the RR tracks (ugh!) or top out on Upper Hitchcock Gully or The Cleft and follow the climbers trails until you intersect the well-marked and heavily traveled Mt. Willard Trail. 5 minutes to the left gets you a fine view at the summit. 40 minutes (1.5 miles) to the right gets you to the train depot near the parking lot.

Getting There Suggest change

To access these routes, most people climb Cinema Gully, Lower Hitchcock Gully (Lower) or Left Hand Monkey Wrench. This often results in bottlenecks on these routes in the morning. A less-busy alternative is Right Hand Squirrel Nuts (aka LHMW Bypass), just right of LHMW.
