This thread cracks me up-- Aside from the vehicle photos Taylor J posted, the other vans/trucks/etc others have shared seem rather oxymoronic and clearly contradict the term "dirtbag".

Also not dirtbagging, but figured I'd share.

The truck can get my gf and I just about anywhere, and in pretty epic comfort (comfy queen bed, fridge, stoves, sink, heater, solar, etc.). On the off chance the truck can't make it (or if we just need to run into town), the bike can take us the rest of the way.

Isn't the topic's operative word "Dirtbag"? All the photos I've seen so far are prima donna vehicles. Where's the challenge? Big deal. So... back in the day, and back to business...

One must always be shaded when swilling

I think the real "dirtbags" are all busy "dirtbaggin" while the rest of us are working so we can pay for our super sweet rides...hmm...something to think about.

I just want to see some sweet setups for long term climbing road trips. I dont give a f*ck if they're adequately shitty to be of dirtbag status.

'99 Chevy S10. Picked 'er up $800 bucks a few years ago w/ 60,000 miles. Pulled into Donner earlier this season for my first "real" climbing trip. Here she is parked at Donner waiting for the laundry to dry, awaiting adventures at Lovers Leap and Woodfords. I miss California.

Good times

Damn... you guys have cars?! When I was dirtbagging, I camped and slept under a tarp, and hitchhiked my way into town to buy ramen noodles (and then hitchhiked my way back.. in the rain). I guess I did it all wrong!

Don't call them "dirtbag" then... Call them what they are - "Vehicles for Long Road Trips", or "Poshmobiles With Living Quarters" or "Elaborate Setups to Squat on Public Lands".

Now that was funny! I'm still laughing. Maybe the tread originally was "How can I move my fat ass around the country for 50K+? "

If we work and have money why not enjoy yourselves?

What's wrong with a dirt bag eating giant prawns in the middle of a casino parking lot?

Dirt bag

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
