Description

This area has attractive cracks and dihedrals just next to the river. It is a beautiful setting. For many years there was a very popular local restaurant in Brandywine, WV. name Fat Boys Pork Palace. Many long time local climbers enjoyed eating there after a day on the crags. When the Fat Boys Pork Palace closed, the building became home to a strip club for a period of time before having a "conversion experience" and becoming a church. The Redeeming Grace Outreach Worship Center currently resided in the building.

Getting There

Drive into the canyon a few miles. Park at a private beach and cross the river to the base of the rock. I have found that the easiest way to cross is to walk downstream to a shallow and wide area. Then walk up the river bank for a bit before being forced back into the river for a bit as you skirt the rocks to access the nice flat base below the climbs.
