Beautifully camouflaged eh?

The problem with that "baby" is that it has only one button and so made no rattling buzz - probably less than 12" long, somehow it got my attention when I was about 3' away from stepping right on it. No harm done, dogs controlled in time and a bit of re-routing got us away with minimal excitement, but it's size made me think it had probably not strayed far from its den this summer, and so that general area has more. So much for the plan to scrub more on those new routes this fall.... Thats why I prefer climbing there in the winter/early spring!

Dangerous babies! (Hey, that's a route name...) I'm glad you spotted it in time.

Nice to have places to climb in winter. Wonderful spot.
