What's the rock outcropping just south of there, in the yellow?

Not much there. Across the river at that point is a large wall that sits right on top of what I understand to be a police shooting range.

Ya nothing worth looking at... I spent sometime hiking back there but its all garbage rock IMO. I also checked out the zone just south of there once and found rocks but nothing that warranted a trip back with shoes.

What I've wanted to check out is: binged.it/1weYtF3. Land is owned by company across the way and south. I spoke to the CEO about access he said they let hunters go on there via waiver. But I never really pursued. From the geology doesn't really look inspiring... Heres another cliff line that looks like it could be cool but I haven't been able to check out binged.it/1qJ5HPY.

I have explored that first spot you have linked a bit. It's on posted no trespassing land. There wall closest to the road is the best quality, but overall very crumbly, choosy, and dirty. Which is too bad because there are some pretty cool steep and overhung features.

That second one might have something though. I know what I'm doing on my next day off...

I checked out that second spot years ago. I parked in the factory parking lot just to the north, hiked up the ridge from that side. From what i remember: there is a very impressive crack that goes out a big overhang. It had some rusty fixed wires sticking out of it. Looked like an aid climb to me. There is some other walls that have potential, also a slabby area farther up the ridge. Most of the rock in this part of the state looks really crappy, but once you clean off the loose stuff whats left is typically very solid. There is a lot of quality climbable rock up here that nobody knows about.

Have any of you guys checked out that big red ridge that is in back of the waterbury motor vehicles? you can see this spot for a second off Route 8. Always been curious about it.
