Description Suggest change

The Usambara Mountains are part of the discontinuous Eastern Arc mountain chain that runs through Kenya and Tanzania. The West Usambara mountains are located in North-East Tanzania. Traveling along the road from Moshi to Dar es Salaam (Highway B1), the impressive escarpment rises on the east. Rock faces are visible from the highway the length of the range, some approaching 150 to 200 meters. The rock is gneiss and appears solid, although most of the cliffs are covered with moss and vegetation. Lots of potential for someone feeling adventurous.

Getting There Suggest change

The road (Highway B1) between Moshi and Dar es Salaam runs roughly parallel to the escarpment.
