Imagine doing that move ...and all the business leading up to it...in 1938!! Hemp ropes, shee-ite boots, tied to the waist, soft pitons, no runners so heaps of rope drag, and certainly no chalk. Quite the monumental climb in its day.

Yep! Pretty wild stuff. One of the first 5.11s in the US was put up here, in stiff-soled hiking boots!
