Hey guys,

I moved to Houston a few months ago and I'm looking for people to climb with, either in the gym during the week or weekend trips to Austin/E rock. I recently started climbing on gear and I'm looking to do more of it, I like sport and bouldering too. Hit me up!

Cheers,
Derek

Hey man. I live in Austin and climb sport in the Greenbelt weekly, usually on Sundays. I'll have more free time during the summer and would like to get out a few times a week. I also do trad and multipitch and am trying to up my game so I'll be trying to hit erock at least once a month, maybe more. My partner just moved to califirnia in pursuit of tall rocks so I'm currently without a regular belayer. Let me know when you're planning a trip to town and I can show you some spots. We've plenty of local limestone all bolted up.

Sounds good! I'll actually be in the area this weekend, I'll send you a PM and maybe we can meet up. Thanks!

Hey guys, I also just moved to Houston from wyoming and am in need of partners who know the area. I am experienced with sport and would love to learn as much as I could about trad.

Hey boys:
Derek: I enjoyed climbing with you the other day. What'd you think of Gus Fruh? We should hit it up again or do something else. Let me know when you are coming this way again or thinking of an erock adventure.

Brock: I live in Austin and have been climbing here for ten years. I know my way around pretty well. We've plenty of local limestone right in town with more within an hour's drive. Granite is about 90 minutes out. Mostly single pitch stuff in slab, face, and cracks. Gear and sport abounds. Let me know if you want to come this far. I'm usually good for Sundays but will be available some on weekdays starting up pretty soon. Love to climb. I guess it's mostly indoor stuff in Houston?

Hey Eric - Gus Fruh was a good time! I might be able to make it out there for another sunday climb in 2 weeks, I'll give you a shout as it gets closer to let you know for sure. I'd be up for more greenbelt or e rock. I'm definitely down for mexico trip in the future!

Brock- I tried to shoot you a pm, let me know if you didn't get it. I try to get to texas rock gym a couple of times a week, you're more than welcome to join anytime. And I'm always up for splitting the gas bill to austin with somebody!!

This makes me excited to move back to Austin! I'm gonna be moving to South Lamar in July, a quick walk from the climbs on the greenbelt so will always be down. I'll keep this post saved and get in touch in a couple months. And I dig your profile pic, Derek. I took the same one on the way to Guppy last year :)

Derek I missed your p at first but just sent a reply. I am free on the weekends and would love to get on some rock so I'm definitely down to drive to Austin. I don't know if any of you ride mountain bikes but I have been itching to ride some hills instead of Swamps.

mike67mike - Guppy was an awesome climb! It was my first time rapping off two ropes... I bet I retied the overhand knot 6 times before convincing myself I could trust it!

Howdy! I'm down here in San Antonio and have been looking for some people to climb with who know the areas. Been to ERock a good number of times but have not climbed there too much. I want to start getting into Trad but it's a slow and expensive process. Basically I just need to start climbing again, it's been a few months and have lost a few grades because of it. Let me know if anyone wants to hit up some climbs!

Hey Jason: I've got some time this week but probably not for erock. Would love to go and hit some sport climbing in the Greenbelt if you want to make a trip to Austin. Free tomorrow most if the day; after 11 on Thursday. Hit me up if you want to do some sport stuff.

Getting up there on a weekday is pretty hard for me. Weekend are much better.

Hey Guys!

Anyone here? A few months late...

I'm moving to Houston from San Diego tomorrow. Taking a few weeks off the gym do to a minor injury but would love to get outside as much as possible a few weeks into Sept. I'm starting a new job, so not sure about flexibility yet.

Have rope/rack/bouldering pads and I want to go to Enchanted Rock. Or anywhere.

Also wouldn't mind finding a somewhat regular gym partner. Texas Rock Gym is closest to me.

Hey Dane,

Welcome to Houston! I go to Texas Rock gym 2-3 times a week, hit me up when you're feeling better if you want to meet up.

I try to get outside and climb at least one weekend a month, usually to Enchanted Rock.

Cheers,
Derek
