Does a BD Chaos harness "break in" and get more comfy?

i have a friend with a recent (2-3 year old harness) with speed buckles that loosen....honestly i've had slippage on almost all my harnesses w/ speed buckles...its never a truly significant problem and just requires a quick pull. Much easier than the double back buckle to get snug and quick adjust for layering.

Wilcox, that is great - I take it all back, buy MM ladies and gentleman, no one else compares

+1 on that statement.

buy what FITS YOU best ... not some other MPer

go to the store and try em all on ... hang from them

FIT is everything ... an ill fitting harness can easily give you the "squishy ballz syndrome"

;)

Depends on the buckles. Petzl speed buckles work great and don't loosen. BD speed buckles? Not so much. My MM and Mammut buckles don't loosen either.

If fit was "everything" you'd be wearing an industrial hammock harness. Fit IS important but it isn't everything.

In response to the original poster, this year's version of the Chaos seems to be quite a bit stiffer and clunkier when new than the previous one. After two solid weeks of use, it's broken in pretty good, but they definitely added some material to this one, so it doesn't feel as sleek as it used to. Hope that helps.

I feel like Speed buckles ability to slip (I'm talking minimal not opening) could also very well depend on how heavy one is and how often they are engaged. I'm pretty light at 160 and rarely fall. Both my deadbirds harnesses have minimal slip. I may have to adjust once during a full day out multi pitch. It's really minimal but it does happen with some models. Mileage varies I guess
