I'd assume the X's are where the bolts are? Sorry...New to climbing...

X's are used on most topos for a bolt or some sort of fixed gear...2 X's beside each other represent anchors. If you're new to climbing in NC, you should pick up a copy of the Selected Climbs In NC guidebook to get familiar with history and routes in the area.
