Description Suggest change

This area is a popular caving area deep in the jungle on Monkey Mountain or Shoushan. Walking into the place, one feels as though he/she has stepped into a forbidden forest from a movie set (e.g. Lord of the Rings). There's potential everywhere but bolting and developing is prohibited by the park so any development is done at your own risk. The area is in the shade all day and only sees sun for a short time due to the amount of overgrowth and the fact that it's actually in one big canyon.

The bolts are in decent shape but the rock they are on is very jagged with few flat spots so make your own judgement before falling on any of them.

This location probably has some of the hardest routes in Kaohsiung with lots of potential for more. Climbing here ranges from 9-12 and there are currently around 7 or 8 routes.

Getting There Suggest change

The approach takes about 30-50 minutes depending on your speed. It's uphill and mostly steps the entire way so fitness is a requirement. Start at the Shoushan hiking area entrance near the zoo and the subway. More detailed directions and photos to come. (MAP IS WRONG)
