On Facebook it's the "Fiona Animal Rescue", please donate anything you can. To climb at the Potrero is to also fall in love with a lot of unfortunate dogs. Such a sweet add on to your EPC Report freeope.

Potrero dogs make great pets! Here is a pic of the one we adopted in 2008.

I think I might have a relative here. Chico here was probably born in Oct 2008, has a brother somewhere in Colorado named Black Sabbath.

Any chance your dog is a fatter version of this one named Lola?

Cool pics, Danny. My dog looks a lot like your chico. My dog is Lola's brother. We adopted him in October of 2008 and he was probably born in Jan or Feb of 2008.

Hi Austin Climbers,

Is anybody planning on driving to Potrero Chico or looking for a partner in mid January? I am an experienced, safe climber new to Texas hoping to take advantage of some of the best sport climbing in the world. I climbed potrero last march and am psyched to get back.

Let me know if you are planning or want to go!

Welcome to Mexico guys. If you are ever found without a partner just post on facebook's climbing groups populated by great people and great climbers. A lot of us speak English and we are more than willing to practice it while doing a few good routes.

Hello!

I'm going to be solo and looking for partners in EPC from Jan. 6-14. I'm a safe (I was even a guide for a bit), experienced climber who's looking to get on long moderates mostly. Shoot me an email (qrohlf@gmail.com) if you need a partner!

I'll be down there, likely staying at la posada, Jan 24th-Feb 6th. Similar pursuits as others in these threads, looking to do the moderate classic multi pitch lines, as well as taking advantage of the harder classic single pitches I didn't last year.

Message me if you will be down there during that time period. Hope everyone has great trips!!!

Left Monterrey via bus around 5:30pm Saturday and our bus has been stuck at the border at Laredo in traffic since 8:30pm Saturday (time now is 10:30am Sunday). If you are planning on driving back I would recommend crossing elsewhere. It looks like it will take well over 24 hours to get back to San Antonio.

Cars do cross faster than buses once you reach the main bridge but up until that point you are creeping along for about 12 hours until the buses and cars separate into separate lines.

If you come to Potrero and want to climb some steep tufas this new area on the way to El Salto has twenty new routes climbing golden tufas and stalactites out roofs:

Cueva de la Cumbia

Mark,

Looks awesome! Are you traveling between the two places or staying near Cueva?

Thanks for the info!

I'm driving to Potrero from Vegas as soon as I can find either a passenger or another car to convoy across the border with. I can pick you up or meet anywhere along the way!

What's it like in early April for climbing at El Potrero? We're thinking of heading down there over spring break. It seems like most people are there over the winter.
