Access Issue: Rebolting Complete! Details

CA State Parks officially reopened Big Rock to public access April 28th, 2018. After months of effort 53 anchors and 232 bolts have been upgraded to 1/2" X 2.75" stainless steel Powers 5-piece bolts and rings.

Description

Large, steep and sustained. The Big Rock Sport Boulder (BRSB), resembles a grid bolted version of the Peabody Boulder, at the Buttermilks, in Bishop, CA. With 12 tough climbs, the easiest route being "Sadie's Arete" checking in at 5.7, B.R.S.B is definitely worth checking out!!!

Getting There

Park at large dirt turn out, on North Side of Ramona Expressway. One half mile west of Bernasconi Drive. Walk 20 minutes up the climber's trail to the "large" boulder.
