Looking for dedicated Alpine climbing partners... lifestyle climbing

Hey everyone, Currently I am living in Red Lodge, Montana but this may change soon depending on where I find work in oil/gas or mining. I am looking for someone in the Northern Rocky Mountain region who is a dedicated alpine climber looking for first ascents, fun committing routes, or even the classics in places like the Beartooth's Wind Rivers, North Cascades, RMNP, etc. I prefer alpine rock climbing at the current time but will be doing way more ice climbing this winter.

Here's my problem...I am having a very hard time finding a climbing partner whereever I go who is as dedicated or as committed as I am. I have lots of friends I go climbing with but they have other priorities they squeeze in as well such as concerts, movies, drinking, partying, sleeping, etc all things I don't care about. Too many of my days are spent sitting around simply because no one I know is able/willing to climb all the time. The other problem I run into is I like to move around...a lot. I have a hard time staying in one place very long so I am always trying to meet climbers throughout the country.

If you find yourself in the same boat hit me up!
Cheers,
Matt

Send me a PM but I'm in northern Denver metro. I recently reorganized my life so I could climb a lot. I have the same problem with friends that have other priorities that get in the way of their climbing

Don't worry between 7-10 years from now your priorities will have completely changed...

All I do is work and climb! I'm only interested in getting on 10c-11b trad lines right now if that sounds good.

Matt,
Are you an engineer or geologist? There's about 15 oil and gas companies in Denver. Quite a few are hiring right now.

Besides Calgary I dont know if any other oil and gas town where you can get to as much climbing in such close proximity.

I'm a geologist...don't know why I am having trouble finding work. Did schedule an interview with Stillwater Mining today though so we'll see how that works.

Regarding Denver, I went to college in Golden and lived there 4 years. As awesome as Colorado is, it's too far to the southeast for me. As I said, I like to move around....a lot. Therefore I am looking to work in a place I can drive equally long in any direction and be climbing alpine routes everywhere from the Canadian Rockies, down to Red Rocks and over to the North Cascades. South-Central Montana currently fits the bill best for me plus I fell in love with the place instantly upon coming here.

@Matt...I am planning a trip back to Colorado the final week of September if you're open. Once I get to a point where I am using my geology degree and have an ideal schedule, I'll head down to CO once every couple months probably.

@CaptainMo...I don't even know if my priorities will change then or not so how can you know? I know for sure though that life without climbing would be awful.

@Jack...I am just breaking into being able to TR 11's. I currently lead 5.9 trad on a good day so you're too good for me at the moment lol. I prefer trad over sport any day though.

Thanks everyone for the relies!

Matt,
Im a geologist as well (sequence stratigrapher), if you're an economic geologist I have a few folks I went to grad school with up in Alaska. If you'd like I can try to get their numbers for you.

Posting so I can find you again in a few months.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
