I was talking about it with my buddy who climbs 5.10 or 5.13 I don't remember which, but he says he prefers cotton shirts. What shirts do you wear when climb or do you change after the approach? Or what beanie for some of you?

I like a shirt that I can fit into a water bottle along with my headlamp.

Hahaha!!!! Oh wow! I've never thought of that - maybe a road biking jersey with some cool carabiners on it ; )

Bike shirts with the pockets in the back. Stash my anchor cord in there. Really nice because It doesnt haveto be neatly coiled and clipped to a biner and frees up room on the harness. One pocket is for a cliff bar and a small water bottle

old t shirts.....i've bought a few tech fabric shirts and always manage to shred them. bringing an extra shirt or 2 never hurts.

i just rock a knit wool beanie or a super thin fleece that will fit under a helmet nicely.

Feel a cotton shirt and a synthetic shirt after climbing a few routes.

Which one makes your fingers cringe?

Or smell them both - the synthetic stinks so bad

I like cotton in the summer, and synthetic when it is cold.

A vote for button-down shirts in for climbing in the sun. Long sleeves = full sun protection. They're cut long enough to tuck into pants, so they stay under your harness. Get 'em cheap at a thrift store and don't worry about shredding them.

Or actually nevermind, I'm gonna get me one of John's XXXXXXXXL beanies.

If I could only find something like this^^^^^, the crew at my local gym might accept me even if I don't wear the skinny jeans.

cotton/poly blend sierratradingpost.com/terra…

cheap w/ 30-35% off coupons, so I picked up a couple. Cut looser than most shirts now-a-days, which is nice for warm weather. Cheap. Don't stink. Seem okay so far.

Cotton tank tops. Cotton T shirts.

I don't climb shirtless. Too much bad karma with that.

"I prefer not to wear a shirt at all

gets me laid."

Works a little different for me. These days I have to take my shirt off then pull out my WALLET!

Why don't you trade for a Resole?
