I don't know if anyone does this route anymore, but here's a photo from the WABAC machine (only a few feet off the ground). Before nuts became the norm, I practiced aid by placing pins in the shallow cracks using them as nuts, without driving them with the hammer. In the late '60s it was common to see bats flying out of the expanding flake above me.
