Good cliff for rescue practice

A friend of mine is looking to run a mountain rescue practice session as part of a mountain medicine course and is looking for a good cliff to do so.

He is looking for a cliff in Colorado that is tiered (flat on top, ~20-30ft upper section, a flat ledge where 15 people can stand and then a lower section ~20 ft with a flat area below the cliff).

He also asks that the cliff be near "a cool place to stay" (like a lodge of some type) to sleep 15-20 people and not too far from the cliff and a major airport.

Anyone have any good ideas?

Bart

I'd probably suggest the North Table Mountain area in Golden right off the bat, but I'm not sure there's a middle tier large enough for a group that big... That said, there's easy access to the top (which is flat) and lots of ledges in between if you seek that sort of thing out. Easy access from golden, straight shot to/from DIA.

Hey Bart,
What about Mary's Lake in Estes? They can rent out the CMS lodge. I did a lot of rescue practice there before my guides' rescue drill and it worked out quite well.

Is Mary's Lake tiered Mike? I actually have never climbed there.

If you consider the ground a tier. It's all small TR / sport cragging.

You've never sent at the mighty Mary's Lake?!
Intermediate ledges are small, no terraces really, but plenty of options that might work out.
Tiers....hmmmm. Boulderado? Left side of Nip and Tuck?

Boulder Canyon is full of places that fit that description. In particular, check out Bummers Rock. There are a few spots that will work, and it has the added bonus of an easy (basically flat) approach. The climbing is obscure and unpopular, so you will have the place to yourself.

No lodging right there, but plenty of options around Boulder County. There are even a few places in Boulder Canyon that might work and would be pretty close: The Alps Boulder Canyon Inn and Boulder Mountain Lodge.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
