Hey! I'm coming from SLC, UT to Seattle the week of June 17 for some work stuff but hoping to extend the trip on either side to maybe get some climbing in if possible. I'm mostly interested in climbing mid grade 12's, which made Deception look like a plausible area? or bouldering in Leavenworth, which looks a bit further, but also open to suggestions since I've never been out there before and I'm at the whim of those kind enough to take me... I won't have a vehicle nor a place to stay after Thursday night in the work hotel. It anyone is interested in climbing either June 15-17 or 21-23 and able to help a stranger get out on some new rock, please let me know ASAP :) Thanks!

If you haven't already, check out cascadeclimbers.com. There is a forum there that may yield some better responses.

There's a decent chance it will be rainy on the Seattle side in June, so keep that in mind. Look at World Wall I at Little Si/Exit 32, its got a good selection of routes from 5.9-5.14, and a lot of it is overhanging enough that it stays pretty dry. The rock is a little better than Deception too. And you could get out there during the week.

Leavenworth is predominantly trad, although there are a few sport areas-look at Condorphamine Addiction for a 6 pitch 10c all bolted, or Drip Wall has a small selection of harder routes. Bouldering there would be easy if you can get there. I can't guarantee anything this far away in terms of me driving to Leavi, but I bet if you posted on CC and maybe on a bulletin board at a gym here, someone could fit you in a car.

If not, I think the bouldering in Leavenworth is worth renting a car/taking a bus.

Halley -

I live in Seattle and am always looking for people to get outside with (weather permitting). If you're looking to get out midweek, I'd be down to head to WWI @ exit32. Otherwise, the bouldering in Gold Bar or Leavenworth is definitely worth driving out for. PM me as it gets closer to June... I'd be happy to play tour guide.

I sent you a pm, on the dry side of the state, but I'll probably be around/climbing both weekends and could show you around
