Laurel Knob

Thank you, without your efforts to change an old game Wayne and I probably would of finished "Mirage" and gone on to other crags in the area!I only went on a rant when I was accused of being disengenuous and not contributing to Laurel Knob. You all forgot the litter Chris Watford donated and I dragged down to Dillard Canyon, and the fact that when Scott Perkins and he asked to help re-bolt they were told no thank you! I guess us dumb ass Georgia boys just can not manage to become as prolific as you since we live beyond some imaginary line. |

Sorry about the liar thing, my dad called all lawyers "Profesional liars", to put my comments in perspective per our conversation Sean refers to. See what I mean! |

My last words on this subject- Shannon- yes you did trail work, yes you did fund raising slide shows. Yes you are a masterful first ascentionist and I respect you greatly in that arena and have for 30 years. As to the whole litter in Dillard and rebolting snub, no recollection of it at all. That crap was like seven years ago. The point is, this internet sniping is BS. Please stop it. I consider the hatchet buried. I wish you would as well. The CCC does good work and doesn't need this crap continually brought back from the dead. If you're bored and apparently you have a computer now, write up your hundreds of routes for Mountain Project. Much more constructive. |

One time, at Laurel Knob, I saw a sock monkey climb watergrooves..... |

Thanks, Ben! These things make me forget about the dehydration, cramped muscles, and vomiting... Almost |

One time, during a trip to Laurel Knob, my partner had food poisoning. He shat himself and vomitted all day Saturday after Mexican in CLayton on Friday. He shall remain nameless, but might or might not be a little man from ALabama. After returning home, I contracted the poisoning and threw up on the ER floor while they shot me full of potassium and gave me IVs. Apparently, I was sick AND didn't drink enough water. I blame the hike. |
|
The hike is barely that long or hard. Takes like 45 minutes to an hour |

How can you retro-bolt an undocumented route established while trespassing? |
|
anyone have a bigger version of the route photo? |

Can anyone direct me towards a good LK approach guide for someone who does not know the area? I am from ontario and every approach beta I can find seems to be aimed for someone who knows every hill, valley and creek in the area. I'm on Google Earth trying to find my way through the directions and can't seem to put anything together. One piece of directions suggested a cul-de-sac at the end of Breedlove Rd, which doesn't end or have a cul-de-sac on it. Any help would be great as we are heading down on Wednesday. |
|
Breedlove basically just ends and there will me a dirt road that continues for a little ways and then you'll come to the panther town parking lot. There will be a metal bar blocking the road, and you walk past that to start the hike. |
|
Thanks so much! I think I found the trail. Another question I have is where is the closest camping. We don't need much for camping we just want a place where camping is allowed. |
|
You will have to camp at or around the Panthertown trailhead. |
