It looks like he's using a BD C4 to counter weight the cam. I've never seen that before. It's just hanging there or it fell out.

I would guess he brought along the big cam thinking it might go in the ceiling and when it turned out to be much too big he left it hanging for the second to carry. He didn't want it weighing him down any longer.

BTW the ceiling takes a yellow #2 Camalot.

I love the crotch jam comment. It looks like he dropped the cam. Looks like an exiting move for a 5.7. is it a hand jam or jugs. I was gonna ask but it looks like a yellow sling in a couple pics. After pulling the roof I saw the over cammed #2. Heading out here at the end of Aug for couple days. Gonna definitely do this. Any other suggestions for best of Gunks. Also, do I need to borrow some ball nuts or am I ok without them?

It's 5.6. You can jam or not, there are lots of holds. The cam is hanging from a fixed piton. It would be hard to do that by accident.
