This photo appeared in a very old issue of Climbing Magazine...or was it Summit Magazine?

I think it was Summit - around 1975. Mark Ward and I did a little article on Little Cottonwood and we shared slides, that's how I got a copy of this old picture.

In '85 Steve Hong made the first free ascent of the first pitch (5.13a). Later that year, Dan Goodwin finished the route by adding on another 60+ feet and a weird 5.12a move bringing the overall rating to a 5.13b. He wanted to cut the original anchors and force whoever climbed Fallen Arches to go all the way to the end but Hong told him not to when Goodwin asked his permission.

I'd wager to say that shown here is a Chouinard Rugby long sleeve shirt, which was standard issue rock climber clothing back in the early 1970's. That and a Swami harness on these climbers, and the belayer is hanging in a nylon belay seat, which we all carried around in our back pockets.

Jim Langdon leading and Mark Ward belaying on the first ascent of Fallen Arches. Probably '70

A couple of no name Provo boys - that also pulled off an early ascent of the Dihedral Wall on El Cap in 3.5 days.
