So Im going to be coming home to CT from AK for a few weeks in mid december, and am really jonesing to try some NE classics after climbing nothing but 'skan ice thus far. Looking for a partner who would be down to do some cragging, and some alpine (been dying to try a winter route on gothics). Im ok with leading WI4, can follow WI5. Also, I probably wouldn't be able to fit my rack + gear into my luggage, so having an ice/alpine rack would be nice, if not a bit far fetched.
Hopefully there will be ice to climb, and even snow enough to make everything not suck this year for approaches, peak bagging, etc. Mid December has been questionable the last couple of years.
really? hmm i knew it was a bad snow year last year but I woulda thought that things'd fill in by december. Im pretty sure ak stole all the snow last year from the lower 48, but its looking like a crappy year up here now, so maybe the northeast will fare better.
