Description

50 to 80 feet of face, sunny and hot most of the day very solid rock, a few old leads bolted and a about 6 sets of new TR anchors along the top. about ten separate lines on the tallest part, maybe more new lines could be opened on the shorter faces also.

There is now an established boulder on the approach to the main crag from Isma's house. As soon as you hit rock after walking through his fields, look to the left and continue at little until you see a huge termite mound. Underneath that is Termite Rock which holds three boulder problems.

Getting There

Take the main road to mukono from Kampala, turn north at the main intersection in mukono. go north about 12 miles on good paved road till the road meets a cross road and jogs a little to continue up a dirt road. follow that dirt road. (your heading in a similar direction after youmake the jog) Pass a left turn off about 0.8 miles up the road, with a sign for a church i think. go about another half mile to another left on dirt road. take this left, as you go down the road you pass a smaller rock on your left. keep going a couple more minutes and there is a big rock on your left. Thats it. There is a house that backs up to the rock, with a blue front painted on it. The lady that lives there lets us park in her driveway, but be very polite and ask permission.we usually give her a couple thousand shillings as we leave. tread lightly as we wont have many options if we piss these local people off.

walk behind that house, up the slabs and the crag is the back side where its steeper. there are walk up and down trails, so you dont have to lead anything if you don't want to.

Access Issues

The man who holds the deeds to the communal land is called Isma and it is his house that we park in front of.

We have agreed to pay him 3000USh per car per night for the parking and overnight security. He will sort out any problems with locals and can even bring food, firewood and charcoal to the top of the rock.
