Got the Snake Eye over in the boulder field near Minor Mass today Sunday May 5th. He was a monster with a good 4+inch diameter at mid length. Couldn't get a better shot as I didn't want to get any closer and he blended quite well into the brown leaf cover. Yes... this is a rattlesnake encountered in a relatively busy area within DLSTP.

"Fountain Steps" DLSTP Feb 2013.

Monotropa Uniflora. Ghost Plant. Indian Pipe. Corpse Plant. No Chlorophyll. Parasitic to some trees and some fungus. Found down below the East Bluff along boulder field right off the trail.

Dave got out his current ice gear kit and climbed just fine with it.
