Hey everyone. Like most everyone else, I'm so excited about next week's trip up to the Blanca group, that I'm already planning our next trip: Mt. Sneffels.

I was browsing around 14ers.com when I came across this picture and am wondering if anyone has any information on it and if anyone's climbed to the 'keyhole' looking formation towards the top left???

that's the handle on Coffee Pot... or is it Tea Kettle? I can't remember.

Can't say I've done it, but I know it has been done. It is on Teakettle Mountain. I've done a bit in the area, lot of loose crappy rock in loose crappy gullies. It't great fun!

Sweet! So do you or anyone know what the route is up to it? Or is it as simple as setting a heading and free-schwacking up to it?

I'm thinking we could do Sneffels then do Teakettle...???

Easiest access is from the Yankee Boy Basin road. It runs right past the base of the mountain. I think that there may even be a pull out right there; then head north.

Yup...

This is not me, and you really do not need any gear to get up there.

Excellent! Thank you so much for that and the picture! Very cool! I knew someone on here would know what it was, I just had to know because it looked so cool from so far away.

There are routes up both Coffeepot and Teakettle; trip reports are over at 14ers.com. Both are low 5th class.
