Planning on going to Red Rock may 2-6, but it keeps looking hotter and hotter. Weather.com shows Vegas about 89-90. Climbingweather.com says 84. I've only been there when its borderline cold, not hot. Obviously we'd be climbing in the shade like Black Velvet, but is it going to be miserable hiking in and out, camping etc? Any thoughts on what the most accurate forecast for RR is?

I've frozen my ass off on some of those canyon walls in April/May when it was 80* in the rest of the park. It seems bizarre, but a light jacket to cut the wind makes a big difference in the shade.
And electrolytes, transitioning from a 60* wall to a 90*+ hike can cause some pretty nasty complications if you get dehydrated.
was there last weekend in BV cyn. Wait until the afternoon when the cyn goes into shade. The walk in will suck but the climbing was cool. Temp drops at night and I was comfortable with just a blanket.
80/90's is perfect conditions for many of the routes in red rocks. Most of the best routes are primarily shaded.
Black Velvet Canyon, Whiskey peak, Ice box canyon, Dark shadows area, are all great areas for the warmer weather. Just bring a little extra water. cheers.
