What do you want to see in climbing films?

I want to see Alpine climbing.

I agree with most sentiments here about bouldering and sport climbing movies. Bouldering movies are about the most boring thing I have the displeasure of watching. Bouldering is boring in general but watching someone else do the same moves over and over and over is taxing.

And/or climbers falling, and getting impaled on really awful objects that one may encounter outdoors, (Oh, don 't get all freaky on me, it's not for real; more like CGI, or better yet, old school special effects from real horror make-up artists). I'm imagining a six foot erect, splintery fence post covered in rusty barbed wire, or someone's homemade stick clip... This thread is fun!

+1 for poisonous spiders, really hairy ones, and ones that don't even exist in the US; the people will never figure that one out. ; )

I'm sooo psyched right now!
[ I'm actually killing time while waiting in the rain, in line at a film festival in Hollywood]

Thanks MP! : )

Stories... about pro climbers doing something new, cool and hard, or weekend warriors getting it done on personal projects. New areas, new routes, as long as the locals are cool with the area being publicized!

Bikini bouldering team or similar exciting climb action flick! Isn't it about time? Admit it, you want it too.

Blitzo should direct a climbing film since he always seeks out good talent:

Also more trad and unique stories. Reel Rock has been doing a good job with different aspects of the sport.

The only bouldering section of a movie I liked was the South Africa segment in Progression a few years ago. But that had Tommy Caldwell in it.

onsights tend to go pretty slow.

I thought Scarey Faces was great because it had history and a current story. More like that...

I'd agree with more trad and more alpine. The endless bouldering videos are a little old.

More crag/area specific films from locals profiling the history, classics, etc. Almost guidebook style films.

And they all look like the half naked dude in your avatar?

Anyways....

Foot work...I would like to see more closeups of footwork.
