Ok, your post is seriously lame.

What ya gonna do about it, boycott sushi in Bozeman cause you're all quiet and upset?

I think what the mods and some of us are trying to impart is that things might be different if y'all were actually being funny in the first place.

There were long bouts of peace that broke out after certain people took their ball and went home, or in some cases, were sent home to go play alone. I didn't notice that the site died with that. I don't suspect it will this time either. What, 13 years and counting?
The wisdom of experience from a long time MP (and Climbingboulder) user...

For 13 years it's been repeated a million times... "the sky is falling", "the trolls are ruining MP" or "the mods are ruining MP". Neither has happened.

It's still chugging, better than ever, IMO. That's the beautiful thing about communities.... they are bigger than any single set of users (misfits, trolls, saints, lurkers, mods, and everyone in between!)

Sorry, that logic does not compute. Being online is interacting with people in real life. There is no magic fence. Being online doesnt give you the right to treat people mean or insult them.

I have no lasting memories of online conversations on climbing forums. Yes it is interaction but it hardly is a defining part of my life. I do have many good friends who I have initially met online, they're not the ones asking about chalkbags.

Soooo, you're saying you don't have the guts to say what you really think unless you're sitting behind a computer in the safety of your home? That's how I interpret that. Did I get it right?

Yours too. They go by "veteran", don't know how veterinarians with one leg would feel.

not really guts, more restraint. It's just so easy to type something flippant and get an equally flippant response from someone like you.

But, the difference is that I would give you the same response even if I was sitting next to you.

There's something to be said for consistency.

edit: ...which, strangely enough, has been a theme of this thread...

Sure, if that's how you take it. In any case, whether or not it's easy to say or type something isn't how I measure whether or not I should say or type something.

Keenan and his internet bros went chalkbag shopping & then hit Dave's

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
