I know someone can do better than this. . .

Pedicabbing. Sounds like hard work, hopefully you make some good bank for that.
Umph! wrote: Ellipses don't work for the end of a sentence. In trying to show continued thought and possibility (at the end of a sentence), you go with 4 dots, not 3. An elipses is used more for in-sentence pause and continuation. . . basically a comma with a breath. Semi-colon use is debatable; but when written out, it needs a hyphen. What can I say, I'm a tradster.
So, do the four dots have a name? A semi-colon needs...wait; did I write the words semi-colon? (Goes back and checks. No, that was Eric-dodged a bullet there.) Funny how all that basic shit I learned 40 years ago gets muddled up. Nonsequitor-Bald Eagle flying over my neighborhood at this very moment. Although this has been a wafer thin slice o' heaven, I think I need to go and soak up some sun, while it lasts.

If we're getting technical about grammar, let's remember that punctuation always goes inside the quotation marks.

As to ellipses, there should be a space between each dot, and as Umph pointed out, the fourth is used to end the sentence. So, the fourth dot is not part of the ellipses, it is a period.

This is important stuff man! I hate that I have to know this.

Great picture but why is the telemarker wearing AT bindings (Silvretta 404s)? No wonder he's flat on his face if he's trying to do a telemark turn in those.

Always? When quoting a single word from a previous sentence (for reference), I don't believe this is true. But, I will believe you if you say it is so.

Now quit being such a grammar bully, JoeP - no one else is being critical like you are.

Okay then. . . I take back my "Great Picture" vote - please return the vote at your convenience.

I'm not the authority, Strunk and White and the Chicago Manual of Style "say it is so."

Grammar bully and being critical...pot meet kettle.

I figured but with all the bitching and moaning on here as of late about feelings being hurt because people aren't sugar coating everything, I wasn't absolutely sure. Sorry. In retrospect, I should have known better as your commentary is usually light hearted.

Haha. I noticed that too, the telemarker that made this was probably really stoned.

I think these are funny - does it really matter if "these have been showing up everywhere now?" (that inside-the-quotation question mark is for you, JoeP)

Hell, if it's funny, it's funny! And that there, Pat, is funny.
