Whatever happened to the travelling biner?

I'll play. Put me on the list.

I wanted to know where the original travelling biner is.
I don't want to start a new one, but keep the original going.
Someone must know where it currently resides.

There would be twice as much action if there were 2 devices, the traveling biner and the traveling stopper. It's OK to have parallel devices here - just that much more opportunity and that much less waiting for a turn. ALso- if one goes missing, the other continues. For costs sake we could do a traveling stopper (#4 BD should go St mail) and a traveling sling (1' X 9/16" dynema) should be the same. Then it's just the regular ole' mail...

Maybe some strange item with an additional rule IE- for obscure or no-star climbs only or back-country only or something strange that would lead us a little more off of the beaten path.

What say you all? Speak and I'll get item #2 selected if it is a good idea and go initialize it before sending it out.

Not sure I would trust a traveling sling...

Traveling stopper sounds like fun.

Fold a MP sticker around the spine or the cable of the stopper for added flare!

Me too! Count me in.

Evan H... Pics? Shipped? If not interested I'll send one of my biners out to get momentum going again.

Tony B: Why don't you work from the bottom of the list with the stopper, sounds awesome. When it gets to me it'll be an excuse to look for a route that isn't all bolted, uncommon here...

Wet weather and cold from hell the last two weekends. I'm working this weekend, but I bought a disposable camera and I have a extra act.

Should I just mail them out the get the ball rolling?

I'm about out of rock season here. Austin can send straight on to evan and skip me this time of year.

Tom, it looks like the original biner is MIA and presumed bailed off of in a lightning storm. This is as good as it gets. Whatever happened to the original thread, though? I would have thought someone would have bumped it by now.

I, too, am quickly running out of good weather. I might have to get creative... Do you think the gym will let me place a stopper on their plastic?

You could just mail out a memory card. You could fit way more pictures and it would cost less to send.

There is always WI and M routes to climb with the biner and stopper when rock is out of season. [disclaimer: I cannot lead such things myself]. I want to get back on the list, but my fun calendar is being crowded out by my work calendar for the foreseeable future.
